Pedro Almodovar will receive the Dilys Powell Award for Excellence in Film.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Roma\u2019, Debra Granik\u2019s \u2018Leave No Trace\u2019, \u2018Cold War\u2019 and \u2018You Were Never Really Here\u2019 are the other titles up for best film. Lanthimos is nominated as best director for \u2018The Favourite\u2019 along with Cuaron, Granik, Pawlikowski and Ramsey.<\/p>\n<p>Olivia Colman is nominated as best actress and Rachel Weisz as best supporting actress, both for \u2018The Favourite\u2019 (picture above). Others up for best actress are Yalitza Aparicio for \u2018Roma\u2019, Glenn Close for \u2018The Wife\u2019, Toni Collette for \u2018Hereditary\u2019 and Joanna Kulig for \u2018Cold War\u2019. Other best supporting actress nominees are Elizabeth Debicki for \u2018Widows\u2019, Cynthia Erivo for \u2018Bad Times at the El Royale\u2019, Claire Foy for \u2018First Man\u2019 and Regina King for \u2018If Beale Street Could Talk\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Best actor nods went to Christian Bale for \u2018Vice\u2019, Rupert Everett for \u2018The Happy Prince\u2019, Ben Foster for \u2018Leave No Trace\u2019, Ethan Hawke for \u2018First Reformed\u2019 and Joaquin Phoenix for \u2018You Were Never Really Here\u2019. Best supporting actor nominees are: Adam Driver for \u2018BlacKkKlansman\u2019, Richard E Grant for \u2018Can You Ever Forgive Me?\u2019, Michael B Jordan for \u2018Black Panther\u2019, Daniel Kaluuya for \u2018Widows\u2019 and Alessandro Nivola for \u2018Disobedience\u2019.<br \/>\nThere is no prize for music in the awards but nominees for the Technical Achievement Award include Nicholas Britell for his music in \u2018If Beale Street Could Talk\u2019 and Thom Yorke for his music in \u2018Suspiria\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Awards Chair Rich Cline said, \u201cBecause our critics see almost everything that\u2019s released, they nominated more than 180 titles in the Film of the Year category alone.\u201d He said the list of nominees goes against expectations and is \u201cvery distinctive in the current awards season\u201d as it includes two women for best director and performances that other groups are overlooking: \u201cWith such a wide range of titles on the ballots, getting a nomination is a real achievement.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Winners will be announced at ceremonies on Sunday January 20, 2019, at The May Fair Hotel.
